Whatever be the case now you now need not to worry. There is a small but very useful trick to avoid windows XP from being shutdown even after the command given.

This trick is not very complicated but only includes old style dos command using command prompt window. Steps to do this easy task given below:

1. Open command prompt using Start> all programms > Accessories> Command Prompt or Using windows run (Windows key + r) and typing CMD

2. IN Command prompt windows type “shutdown –a” or “shutdown /a” and press enter this will abort shutting down process.

The above process is the full explanation as how this works but there is an easy way available if you liked the above trick by creating a shortcut for the above command. You can make a shortcut by right clicking and selecting shortcut from new. In the create shortcut wizard type the above command as it is then click next and type its name. That’s it, it’s done.
