A sudden thought came to my mind that I have to either enrich my English vocabulary or learn a foreign language. But my schedule doesn’t allow me to. I am not able to spend lot of hours on a coaching center. So, I tried to search for an alternative. The utility “EasyWords” is a solution for all these problems.
EasyWords is small freeware of 1.8 MB. It will help you to learn words in three different languages i.e. English, German and Turkish. Initially, after the installation you have to select the dictionary according to the language you want to learn. The user interface of the tool has been shown in the snapshot below.
Use the words option and you will have a dialog box as shown in the snapshot below. The words along with their meaning are displayed (Language 2 being the meaning in the language you are aware of). You can start learning with five words per day in the beginning and increase them as per your retention level. You can also search any word.
This was the conventional method to start learning a language. You have to find time for that. There is another interesting option. A word with five different options will be displayed. You have relate the word and choose the correct one. It the incorrect option is selected, the correct option will be highlighted in green. It has been shown in the snapshot below.It is displayed after a particular time duration according to your comfort. The best part is that the dialog box blinks on the screen for a microsecond and settles down on the taskbar. So, the task you are performing will not be interrupted.
This facility enables you to learn the words and that too without any separate time requirement. Now, you need to pre-determine certain settings within your comfort zone present under the heading “Menu”. You may select the dictionary file. The tool has dictionaries to learn three languages with various size of dictionaries:
- English – English: one dictionary
- English – German: two dictionaries
- English – Turkish: four dictionaries
- German – German: two dictionaries
- German – Turkish: one dictionary
You may change the question time interval: non-stop, 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 7 and 10 minutes. The question Mode can be selected as Multiple choice or written. You may use the Web-Dictionary Language with a large number of languages available also.
You can also insert the dictionary of your choice. The software will surely help you to learn the words without disturbing your schedule. You will learn the words as well as enjoying the method.
The freeware has been tested on Windows 7, so it will be compatible with the other versions also.
